The Stadium is to be located on the site of the car park of Connolly Station; part of the elevated track is to project into the airspace above the train tracks . Existing rooms used by a local boxing club and GAA club located in the vaults at Seville place are to be re-accommodated in the new scheme.
The vaulted complex of structure beneath the station as it exists is only accessible from the Amiens Street side of the site. On the other side, a large bank rises up eight meters from street level to the platform level of the station, burying the structure. It is proposed to clear some of this material, to expose the fine grain of the vaults, creating a large public plaza beside the station, with routes into it from Amiens Street under the station. This act makes porous the large city block formed by the station.  The spaces of the vaults which are not used for circulation contain stalls, which can be fully stocked and stored and then, when required, roll out on tracks into the square to form a market.
